My first ever 'Featured seller' interview
The lovely Traceyann from Artisan Silver has kindly offered to publish an interview with Personalised Treasures as a featured seller.
As this was my first one, I was a bit nervous but I'm really pleased with the result. Please click here to read this interview on Traceyann's blog http://artisansilver.blogspot.com.
ArtisanSilver offers gorgeous handcrafted jewellery and keepsakes including silver designs inspired by nature.
My favourite item in Traceyann's Folksy shop is this 'Love me Love me not' Necklace. Friday, 5 August 2011
Latest commission: Bridesmaids Necklaces
I have recently received a request for some bridesmaids necklaces. My customer liked this Floating Flower necklace but I didn't have enough beads for the order.
So I had to search for some very similar beads and gave my customer a choice of two types (she liked the second one):
The stamping on the bead caps was to say 'BRIDESMAID' on top and '19.11.11 C&T' on the bottom (that was the wedding date & the couples' initials).
And here is the result:

My customer was happy with the necklaces, this is what she said:
Thank you so much, the necklaces arrived this morning and they are lovely. I am very happy with them, the bead is very nice and the engraving is superb!
Thank you so much for the amazing service. i will be in touch very soon ordering baby things and would be recommending you to all my friends.

I can customise this necklace to fit in with your wedding colour theme by using a different bead. I can also make matching earrings if required. Both of these options are available if you purchase 5 or more bridesmaid’s necklaces.
Prizes claimed.
You may remember my last giveaway (I was giving away a personalised silver necklace to the winner and a small keyring to the runner up), well both prizes have now been claimed and here they are:
The winner Katie has chosen to add the name of her son Seth on her necklace and the runner up Jo wanted her name on her little keyring:

Folksy Friday 5th August: 'Green Door'
I have often thought that if I ever get stuck trying to come up with a theme for Folksy Friday I will refer to my trusty old diary for some inspiration. That time has come!
Each day, my diary features an 'interesting' (some more than others) fact that most of us probably didn't even know about. Some facts are really useful and worth knowing but with some of them you wander where on earth they come from...
Here are some examples for some days in August:
August 6th - American Scientists reveal evidence of ancient life on Mars in meteorite remnants 1996
August 7th - Employment of boy chimney sweeps prohibited 1840
August 28th - Shops open for the first time on Sunday following a change in the Sunday trading laws 1994
So anyway, for today, my diary says: Number one single was 'Green Door' by Shakin Stevens 1981.
For that reason, my Folksy Friday for this week is 'Green Door'. Enjoy! (amazing what you can find on Folksy...).

Tuesday's Treats: 'Pussycats with heart'
I have decided to start a regular blog post called ‘Tuesday's Treats’. Every Tuesday (or majority of them…) I will post a photo that I have come across on the web and I have found interesting and feel that you should see it too.
I will then add 2 or 3 Folksy handmade items which are in some way related to the photo.
So here is my first Tuesday Treat: Pussycats with heart
Featured on 'myblogfinallymadeit.blogspot.com'
I was please to find out this morning that my Personalised copper bracelet has been featured in Uniquelly Yours' blog! Nice start to the morning, thank you Linda.

Chainmaille copper bracelet
I went away recently and took some copper jumprings and my pliers with me (mad, I know!) as I wanted to try some Chainmaille.
I have never done it before but I really like the effect it creates.
I have to say it is a bit ‘fiddly’ and you have to have a lot of patience but I really enjoyed it. I have made Byzantine chain and made it into a copper bracelet with an open heart charm. The heart can be stamped with your name or a date or can just be left blank. I have also oxidised it and wire brushed it to create a lovely aged effect.
As the bracelet is made from solid copper, it is perfect as a gift for 7th wedding anniversary, perhaps featuring a wedding date or the couple’s initials.
This Chainmaille bracelet is now available to buy in my Folksy shop. Please click here.
