Latest commission: personalised gift for wedding guests

I was recently contacted by a bride to be who wanted me to create some personalised thread on Pandora style beads as a special gift for some of her closest wedding guests.

I have not made these beads before but had a go at making them and was very pleased with the result.

 

My customer ordered 6 beads with the following text on one end:

bride (with hearts symbols on each side of the word Bride)

bridesmaid (x2)

mum of groom

mum of bride

maid of hons

The other end of each bead had her wedding date stamped on (24.04.2012).

She chose amethyst colour glass beads.

I'm really pleased with the way these beads turned out, hope the bride to be likes them too (when they eventually reach Australia!).

Unexpected visitor.

Guess what I spotted in my garden yesterday afternoon? A pheasant! Probably not so unusual if you lived on a farm in the middle of the countryside but we are surrounded by lots of houses and live in a quit a busy town...

Anyway, I did think 'pan fried pheasant breast' for a second but after that me and my daughter gave him some bread which he seemed to appreciate until we scared him off and he flew into the neighbour's garden.

All this after we had another unexpected visitor last week, this one was much more cuddlier....

I wonder who is going to come next...

So pleased with this...

So I can finally show you my brand new creation! It's a Pandora style tread on charm bead which can be personalised on 2 sides with your name, date or other text.

The charm bead is made using a glass bead topped with 2 sterling silver disks which are hand stamped. The disks are attached to the bead by silver inserts which are stamped 925.
The inner hole is about 4.5mm so it will fit all major charm bracelets such as Pandora.

I have used an Aqua faceted glass rondelle bead, I also have it in amethyst colour and also clear white. I'm sourcing other glass beads so that I can offer my customers a selection of beads to choose from. What type of bead and what colour would you like to see in my shop? I have already been asked for a white pearl but have not been able to source one just yet...

Baby feet (my new metal stamp!)

I recently bought a new metal stamp - baby feet. I really like it, each foot is only about 4mm high and they look really cute.

I have made a personalised silver necklace by combining a small silver charm with the baby feet on with a larger charm with the baby's name.

This necklace will soon be available to buy in my Etsy and Folksy shop.
